Wayne Rooney marked his return to Everton with a stunning goal in a pre-season friendly against Gor Mahia FC. The former Manchester United captain recently completed his return to Goodison Park after calling time on his 13 year stint with Manchester United.
Rooney only needed 34 minutes to score his first goal in spectacular style with a dipping shot from 30 yards out. Wayne Rooney admitted that he had been long thinking about scoring a goal for Everton again. He said it was a great feeling to score for Everton.
Everton are currently in Tanzania for their pre-season preparations. They kicked off their campaign with a game against Kenya’s reigning Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC. Everton went on to win the match 2-1 and Rooney was delighted to get off the mark.
