Porsche Panamera Executive 2017

The second generation Porsche Panamera was unveiled in June 2016 at a special event in Berlin, Germany. It is a long-wheelbase version of the Panamera, targeting customers who like to be chauffeured around. Designed as a chauffeur saloon the Porsche Panamera is available in the all-wheel drive versions Panamera 4 Executive (243kW / 330 hp), Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive (340kW / 462 hp), Panamera 4S Executive (324kW / 440 hp) and Panamera Turbo Executive (404kW / 550 hp.

The Porsche Panamera Executive comes with expected items like rear fold-down roof-hinged vanity mirrors, 2 separate formed seats for the rear-seat occupants, a seating position further back almost between the rear roof pillars.  The new Panamera Executive range is also equipped with various standard features including a large panoramic roof, heated comfort seats with multi-way electrical adjustment in the front and rear, as well as adaptive air suspension with an electronically controlled damper system (Porsche Active Suspension Management).  Roll-up sun-blinds behind the headrests in the rear also come as standard.

The new Porsche Panamera’s performance encroaches on supercar territory. The 4S, which shares its engine with the upcoming Audi RS4 and RS5, charges from zero to 60 mph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The Turbo manages it in 3.6 seconds, and in both cases, the optional Sport Chrono package shaves off a further 0.2 seconds which is due to its launch-control function. The stated top speeds are 180 mph and 190mph for the 4S and Turbo respectively.

Some reviewers who rode the new Porsche Panamera’s final prototypes were stunned by the incredible rearholding and the balance between performance and comfort. They said its an impressive car even with the standard suspension, but it truly shines when fitted with the optional three-chamber air springs, the active anti-roll system and the rear wheel steering system.

In South Africa the Executive derivatives are available for order now but first deliveries can be expected during the second quarter of 2017.
